Universe Is Not God!

godThis article is actually some sort of a prelude for another article about the book The Secret. However, since it’s quite long, and still the material here should be delivered before discussing about The Secret, I decided to present it as a separate article.

One of the very common mistakes I see with spiritual approach in New Age is to see the Universe as God. Spiritualism says the Almighty Creator penetrates everything, and dwells in everything, so everything that was or is created carries the energy particles of Almighty. However, to think Universe as God means to restrain the Absolute Compassion with only the Universe, and it’s completely wrong. Universe is just a creation which was created by the Creator. Just like the galaxies, systems, stars, planets etc., all the living creatures all around this planet are among these particles. In another word, Universe is a piece of the Almighty Lord, but Almighty Lord isn’t only Universe.

At the other hand, another important subject is the equation that is taken mistakenly from the holy books of three great religions: The Satan. Frankly, especially the authority seeking ecclesiastics through fear (in all the religions, not in this or that), horror movies produced by Hollywood, and horror novels to be blamed for this.

Spiritualism emphasizes that the “demonic possession” is a real phenomena, and I believe this might be very true for some people with weaker wills. However, drawing from my own experiences, I can freely say that “demonic possession” is not about the physical body, but mostly a place. I saw such dark ethereal beings trying to take over a house, or any kind of place, poisoning the energy in there. However, to think them possessing the body of a person is a very excessive example about this. All I can say from what I witnessed so far, such demonic creatures can deceive people’s minds, but they can’t control the entire body out of the person’s own will, unless the person has an inclination to the negativity and darkness themselves. Metaphysics is a very delicate subject that you have to take everything into consideration when faced a supernatural phenomena. (One of the examples I examined lately is the unfortunate situation of a girl named Anneliese Michel, and I will share my opinions about that case soon.)

The truth is that Vatican, which supports a very twisted version of Christianity, was found by Constantine during the times of Roman Empire with a goal of keeping alive the Caesar title, and while Caesar title left its place to Papacy, Roman Pantheon became Catholic Church of Christianity. While there are alternative sects like Protestantism, Orthodoxy, etc., Western world will never be able to get rid of Paganism influence as long as they see the saints as demigods. And this is not a problem only for Western world, because the same pattern appears now even in Islamic world, with “modern Sikhs.” Sometimes it appears as if the Judaism is the most pure form of belief; if only it wasn’t so backward minded. All these religions dance with Paganism now, and many occult notions – like “demonic possession” come from Paganism, anyway.

Well, I’m not against the saint figures unless they are seen or shown as demigods. However, the real purpose here for the ecclesiasts is to hold control over people through fear, forcing them to obey. They say “accept the hardships you face today, and be grateful for it, because you will be among the richest in Heavens.”

This fear factor built in our belief systems actually created a very wrong understanding throughout the centuries: A never ending war between the light and the darkness, or the good and the evil.

satan-not-an-angel1Yes, I also believe that such a war continues all around the universe, and according to the spiritual belief, this war is an essential factor for us to remember who we really are as particles of God, during our journey back home. However, this is a war between the light and the darkness; in another word, it’s between the creatures of Heaven and Hell. And, through the principles, rules, and inclinations they follow individually, people take sides with one of these forces. Each is an experience on its own; each helps the spiritual growth; and only it’s in harmony with the plan of Universe designed by God, it stays in a balance. But thanks to ecclesiastic interpretations of holy books, and again all thanks to Hollywood (another man-made-demigod, I guess), this war was turned into something between – not light and darkness – Satan and the Almighty Creator, which we can only describe as polytheism, or again, Paganism. Whereas, just like all the angels and humans, Satan is also another particle of God, and can’t be the power that be compared as opposite to God! Satan may deceive man along his way to God, but can never be an equal to Him! Even Satan has a part in His divine drama.

I know what I explained so far sounds like nonrelated to our topic here, but actually it’s very important, and also directly related. That’s why I’m explaining it in details. While spiritualism says the Almighty Lord is Unconditional Love, paralleled with Sufism, and as I personally believe this is the truth about Him, some pieces of literature that are presented as authorities just like Secret, adding the fear factor once again, are aiming to turn belief system into Paganism. Anyway, Vatican Christianity supports such notions and concepts.

After all these, I’d like to call all the fundamentalist ecclesiasts from all three organized religions, saying these words that I repeated in a dream I had a few years back, again talking to one priest, one rabbi, and one imam:

religious race“The notions of good deed and sin can be seen as factors that lead man to the right path to the Creator. Morally and humanly right or wrong actions can make one closer or farther to Him, but this is completely and only for the man’s self. The right or wrong actions that comes from the thought of ‘Oh, Lord will punish us, so we must do good so He will like us’ are meaningless, because He is above such humanly actions and thoughts. While good deeds leads one to Him, and sins pushes one farther from Him, they’re already rewards or punishments themselves, because going farther from Him hurts a soul. Just how a parent loves the child even if he or she is in prison for wrong deeds, He will keep loving you even if you’re in Hell, because He is the Unconditional Love! To assume that the Creator will love you more for your good deeds or less for your sins is to see Him as a human, and to see Him as a human is, in its very essence, the epitome of idolatry!”

Once more us Pagans are depicted as ignorant as best, baddies at worst. Not sure if it worth saying that to many Pagans, God/Goddes/The Divine IS Unconditional Love and when they connect to archetypes of “gods” is simply because they find it easier than to connect to a bigger, abstract idea of Deity. Many Pagans understand that the Divine a) is not human; b) understand our human weaknesses; c) unlike many, does not judge the path each individual has found to connect to it; d) has not favorites.

If you believe that there is One God, One Divine Creator, and that there are other higher beings responsible for natural forces, then I don’t think it’s Paganism, which your list gave me the impression that you believe so. I didn’t say we can’t ask anything from Universe, or we are not in communication with Universe; I said just as we are, Universe is not God, but a part of God! I think I’m misunderstood in this regard.
